Geoffrey M Spencer Chartered Accountants is a local friendly firm of professional accountants established over 20 years ago and based in Shaftesbury, Dorset on the borders of both Wiltshire and Somerset.

The Proprietor, Geoffrey M Spencer FCA, qualified as a chartered accountant in 1973, and has gained extensive experience in small accountancy practices and commercial organisations.

We consider that we are approachable and able to offer a proactive service and work alongside our clients to help them succeed in business. Our relationships with our clients tend to be long term, so we feel we must be getting something right!

Our services can be tailored to the specific requirements of our clients, be it annual accounts and associated tax returns, bookkeeping, payroll, VAT Returns, income tax, corporation tax, capital gains tax, business budgets & forecasts, etc.

Whilst we accept that as local accountants we offer a service to local clients and are not necessarily able to offer an in-house service for all our clients' needs, we are normally able to introduce clients to other suitable professionals where it is considered necessary.

We consider our fees to be competitive, computed on the basis of time spent on clients' affairs and on the level of skills and responsibility involved. Fees are charged separately for each class of work and are normally billed when that work is finalised. Fees for specific work can be negotiated in advance, and we are always willing to consider agreed fixed fees. We are also able to offer payment by interest free instalments.
